12. Reinstall one flat steel washer into left side of
gearcase.
13. Align washer with gearcase hole and reinstall auger
shaft through gear.
IMPORTANT: Make sure auger shaft key aligns with gear
keyway.

14. Reinstall one flat steel washer and bushing onto right
auger shaft end.
IMPORTANT: Stepped-down side of bushing MUST be
positioned toward gearcase.

15. With a driver, such as a 1 1/4" deep-well socket, drive
bushing into gearcase until groove is just beyond
interior gearcase wall. See Figure 140.

16. Wrap seal protector around each auger shaft end so
they cover the shear bolt holes.
NOTICE: Unprotected seals can be damaged when
installed over rough edges in shaft, such as holes.
17. Install gearcase seals over seal protectors and press
into gearcase until each seal is flush with gearcase
exterior.
18. Remove seal protectors.
