The clutch assembly
is
attached to the rear of the engine
flywheel. The dry disk clutch provides a positive means of
mechanically engaging and disengaging power flow from the
engine to the transmission and PTO.
The clutch also acts as a shock absorber that protects the
transmission and engine from excessive load.
Torsional
springs
(0)
in the clutch disk dampen the transmission of
torque by allowing twist between the disk facings and the
flywheel (A) when the clutch is engaged.
