2/ INSTALLING THE HOOD

1) For the correct operation of the Downdraft, it is important for it to be installed correctly.
Before proceeding with installation
2) Before installing your appliance, remove all safety protections as illustrated in Fig. 2 - 2b
– 2c – 2d.
3) The motor is delivered fixed to the appliance to prevent any damage during transport. It is
necessary to remove the motor prior to beginning the installation.
4) Make a rectangular opening in the back part of the kitchen top with the following dimensions:
790x1000 (see Fig. 3).
5) If you wish to position the hood so that it is attached to the cook top, it is possible to join the
hood opening to the cook top.
6) Before making the opening, check the inside of the cabinet level with the hood area to make
sure there is no framework or other elements that could adversely affect the correct installation.
Make sure that the size of the hood with its motor and the work top are compatible with the unit
so as to allow installation.
7) Apply the adhesive to the bottom part of the cornice (Fig. 11) and place it inside the opening
in the kitchen top. Then fit the Downdraft inside the unit.
Installation
8) Fit the hood inside the unit, introducing it from above.
9) The steel cornice of the hood must adhere perfectly to the upper kitchen top.
10) Fasten the hood inside the unit, using the special brackets (Fig. 5 A). According to the size
of the unit and the overall size of the air exhaust tube, use the fastening brackets provided.
Motor
11) The motor has been designed to be fixed to the hood. Proceed to fit the motor, adjusting
the air exhaust outlet to the required position, facing up or down (Fig. 6).
12) The motor can be fastened either to the front or to back part of the appliance. To install at
the back, proceed as follows: unscrew the plate in the back part of the hood, screw in the motor
in place of the plate, connect the motor wiring correctly and screw the plate into the front part
of the hood.
When the motor has been installed, proceed to fit the air exhaust tube.
Warning: do not make any other holes in the appliance, as this could damage the internal sli-
ding parts as well as the electrical parts.
13) Position the metal box with the electrical parts in an area that can be accessed easily for
assistance interventions (Fig. 6) and connect the electric connectors to the hood. Warning: be
sure to follow the guidelines and warnings in the section about "How to connect the hood"
14) Connect the appliance to the mains electricity.
Downdraft calibration
After the downdraft has been installed, the aspiration panel must be calibrated. This operation
is necessary to regulate the power exstraction of the aspiration panel. Connect the product to
the power line, making sure that it is conformed to the supply voltage indicated on the tech-
nical data tag. Pushing the ON/1 button (fig. 8) the aspiration panel rises. After it has reached
a height of 180mm from the cooketop, press OFF, to stop the extraction then the Timer (fig. 8)
and after 2 sec. the OFF button.
The downdraft will carry out the calibration of its aspiration panel rising and retracting for some
centimeters. During this phase, the buttons on the pushbutton control panel blink. At the end
of the calibration, the aspiration panel get back to the previous position and the button end to
blink. Wait until the aspiration panel stops moving before re-activating the extraction.
Warning: calibration needs to be carried out correctly since this operation will play an important
part in your safety both during installation and with regard to general safety rules.
