7.2 Acquiring a GPS Satellite Fix

In order for the HEMA Navigator to find your current location, it requires a GPS
satellite fix. Memory-Map will automatically acquire a GPS Satellite fix when the
application is started.
To acquire a GPS fix, it is important that you are in area open to the sky, (not
inside an enclosed building) and away from tall buildings and trees. The initial fix
may take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. This length of time to obtain a fix will be
greatly reduced the next time the navigation software is started.
To see details regarding satellites use the Tools menu button to gain
access to the Satellites Menu option:
The Satellites window will be displayed, showing the amount and strength of
satellite fixes.
