PCMCIA Port in the Battery Compartment
Location
The PCMCIA port is located inside the battery compartment (see Figure 4-7).

Class of Protection
The PCMCIA port in the battery compartment complies with class of protection
IP65 (in contrast to the PCMCIA port under the protective cover).
Inserting/Removing a PCMCIA Card
The procedure for inserting and removing a PCMCIA card is the same as for the
PCMCIA port under the protective cover (see Section 4.5).
Connections
This port allows the use of suitable PCMCIA cards (Type II).
Possible Applications
The PCMCIA port in the battery compartment is particularly suitable for the use of
PCMCIA wireless cards (wireless LAN).
