Infrared Port (IR)

Location
The infrared port is located on the top left of your MOBIC (see Figure 4-2)

Class of Protection
The infrared port complies with class of protection IP65.
Connections
This port is used for transmission of data without a cable connection (maximum
distance to the partner device 20 cm).
Possible Applications
Using the IR port, you can exchange data without a wire connection with peripheral
devices that also have an infrared port (for example with a laptop).
Cable-Free Connection
Using the IR port, you have a convenient method with which you can connect your
MOBIC to a PC with an infrared port and exchange data between the devices
without any cable connection.
For more detailed information on establishing a connection with your host
computer via the infrared port, refer to Section 6.2.
You can also use the infrared port to connect peripheral devices such as printers
to your MOBIC.
