the generator
wires.

Disconnect the
muffler
inlet
pipe at
the
exhaust
ma
nifold.

isconnect

clutch
release leve
r
retracting
sp
rin
g.
Disconnect
the
starte
r
cable at
the
start
er,
then
disco
n-
nect
the
battery
ground
strap
at the
engine.
Remove
the
starter assemb
ly.
Insta
ll
the engine lifting sling as
shown in figs.
4
or 5.
R
emove
the
fl
ywhee
l
housing
to engine bolts. Remove
the flywheel
housing
lower
cover.
R
e
m
ove
the
bolts
from
the
en
gine
front support.
Take
up
the
we
ight of
the
e ngine
with
a hoist.
Sup-
port the transmission with
a
ja
ck,
then move
the engine
fo
rwa
rd to sepa
rate
the clutch from
the
transmission
input
sh aft.
L
ift
the
engine
carefull
y
from the
chassis.
D
o
not
a llow
the
engi
ne
to damage
the
front
end shee
t
m
eta
l.
Install
the
engine on a
work
sta nd
using the
app
ro-
priate
mount.

emove

Install
the
engine
lifting
sli ng,

up
the weight
of
the
en
gine with
a hoist,
then remove
the engi

from
the
work stand.

remo
ve
the
en

ine
from
the
work
stand
and lower it
on
blocks
.
Ins tail
the rig
ht-hand
manifold. Install
the engine
lifting
sling.

Install
the
engine
in
the
chassis, a ligning the
