5 Reconditioning
5.1 Cleaning and disinfection
IMPORTANT!
All cleaning agents and disinfectants used must
be effective, compatible with one another
and must protect the materials they are
used to clean. For further information on
decontamination in Healthcare Environments,
please refer to your local guidelines on infection
control and your local infection control policy.
Preparation at the place of use
1. Thorough pre-clean the product with hot tap water.
– Pre-cleaning storage time must be as short
as possible.
– Products to be cleaned must be protectively
packed, e.g. sealed with adhesive tape in
such a way that no more openings are visible
on the packaging.
– Pathogens with which the product has been
infected (even potentially) must be noted and
visibly specified on the outer packaging.
Preparation before cleaning
1. Dismantle the product into individual components and
create an optimum item for cleaning and disinfection.
2. If present, cover electrical connections with protective
caps and seal any sites where water may leak in.
3. Remove superficial contamination.
Cleaning
1. Clean the product with decalcifying sanitizing
detergent. Manual brushing is permitted.
2. Rinse with tap water until the detergent is completely
removed.
3. Mechanically cleaning of washable components (e.g.
covers) in industrial washing machine.
5.3 Reconditioning scheme
For replacement parts refer to the electronic spare parts catalogue (ESPC).
The following items must be reviewed and checked when reconditioning is required:

4. Rinse with tap water until the detergent is completely
removed.
5. Manually clean the product with universal detergent.
Supplementary manual brushing is also permitted.
6. Rinse with tap water until the detergent is completely
removed.
7. Air dry until there is no more superficial moisture on
the product.
Disinfection
1. Disinfect the product by wiping generally accessible
surfaces with disinfectant.
2. Air dry until there is no more superficial moisture on
the product.
