Warning: There are two versions of the FSX2034 module; FSX2034-0 and
FSX2034-1. The component difference has no effect on module/server performance,
and there are no external differences between the versions, with the exception of
labels. If your FSX is an FSX2034-1, the minimum supported software revision is SU
5.2, and you must configure that module with the SSLoader version from SU 6.0 (or
above). Refer to the Hitachi High-performance NAS Platform System Installation
Guide for instructions on using SSLoader.

Replacement Procedure

To replace an FSA module with an FSX module:
1. Send any diagnostics to your support organization before and after swapping the
modules.
To send diagnostics to support:
a. Log in to Web Manager.
b. From the Home page, select Status & Monitoring > Download
Diagnostics.
c. Click email.
2. Check the version number of the SSLoader running on each module in the server.
a. Connect a laptop to the management network.
b. Set the laptop's computer interface IP address to a unique value on the
management network, for example: 192.0.2.41.
c. Log in as "supervisor" on the server with the module being replaced.
d. Display the version of SSLoader on the modules in the server by entering the
following command:
ver |grep ssloader
e. Ensure that the version displayed is 4.3.983e, or later, on all modules.
3. Shut down and power down the server. See
Powering Off the Hitachi High-performance NAS Platform™," on page 37
instructions on how to shut down the server.
4. Remove the fan modules and replace them with FSX-supporting fan modules. See
"Replacing a Fan Assembly," on page 36
assembly.
5. Remove the FSA module and replace it with the FSX module. See
Hitachi High-performance NAS Platform™ Module (Non-Upgrade)," on page 25
details.
6. Connect the serial terminal cable from your laptop to the server's NIM board and
launch your preferred terminal emulation program with the following settings:
115,000 bps
8-bit
No parity
1 stop bit
