Instrument and control functions
With the engine turned off:
1. Set engine stop switch to run position.
2. Turn main switch to on position.

3. Shift transmission into neutral.
4. Push the start switch.
Does the engine start?
5. Stop the engine.
6. Set engine stop switch to run position.
7. Shift transmission into gear.
8. Pull the clutch lever.
9. Push the start switch.
Does the engine start?
The system is OK. The motorcycle can be ridden.

If a malfunction is noted, have the vehicle
inspected by a Yamaha dealer before riding.
The neutral switch may not be working correctly.
The vehicle should not be ridden.
The clutch switch may not be working correctly.
The vehicle should not be ridden.
