8. Remove the cotter pin and washer (B, Figure 16)
from the back of the rear brake rod (A). Separate the
brake rod (A) from the brake arm (C).
9. Remove the two front transmission mounting cap-
screws (G, Figure 15).
10. Remove the four back capscrews (E, Figure 15)
securing the torsion bar mounts. DO NOT remove
capscrews (K) securing the transmission to the carri-
er assembly.
11. Rotate the torsion bar out of the way.
12. Remove the two remaining transmission mounting
capscrews (K, Figure 15).
13. Using the hydraulic jack, lower the transmission out
of the frame (see Figure 17). Be careful not to dam-
age the fan or release lever.
If desired, the carrier assembly can be removed for
inspection and lubrication. Refer to Figure 18 for
assembly. Torque pivot capscrews (A) to 50 ft. lbs.
