The Leopard ERV flush device is used during required sanitizing of the syrup lines and valve.
The flush device automatically opens the syrup valve and allows the appropriate sanitizer
solution to be flushed from the backroom setup. The flush device is a micro-processor based
device that sends the "open syrup valve" command to the ERV as long as it is plugged into the
valve and the valve is ready to accept commands.
The instructions in this document are meant to illustrate the basic concept of a sanitization
procedure using an ERV flush device. The standard sanitization procedure for the equipment
supersedes these instructions and should be used with all warnings and cautions followed.
Instructions for use:
1. Turn OFF power to the valve(s) requiring sanitization.
2. Remove the valve(s) cover to access the electronics printed circuit board.
3. Carefully insert the flush device into the mini-USB connector located on the top right
edge of the circuit board.
4. Follow the sanitization procedure to ensure sanitizer liquid is properly prepared and
that the lines requiring sanitization are inserted into the solution.
5. Turn ON power to the valve(s).
6. If the LED on the keypad is flashing, then the valve is completing a normal procedure
to charge the power-back-up capacitor. The flush device will not continue until this
procedure is complete (up to 3 minutes). The LED will turn OFF when charged.
7. The valve will now begin the flush procedure and will continue in this mode for as
long as the device is plugged in and the valve is powered. Fluid should be pouring from
the valve nozzle. A momentary pause in flow every minute is normal.
8. Continue until only sanitizer is pouring from the valve. Turn OFF power to the
valve(s). The valve will close upon the loss of power.
9. Change over from the sanitizer solution to a clean potable water supply.
10. Repeat Steps 5 through 8 until only clean water is pouring from the valve.
CAUTION — Flush the system thoroughly — residual sanitizing solution left
in the system could create a health hazard.
11. Re-attach each of the syrup lines to the appropriate syrup source.
12. Repeat Steps 5 through 8 until only syrup is pouring from the valve.
13. Remove and wipe down all flush devices
14. Replace covers and Turn ON power to the valve(s). Ensure proper operation.
Precautions:
1. The flush device is designed to be water-resistant; care should be taken to not
submerge the device.
2. If the device is removed while the valve is pouring, the valve will continue to pour
until the 1-minute time expires. This can be over-ridden by dispensing from the ERV
by using the keypad or lever.
3. It is not recommended that the flush device be inserted or removed with power applied
to the valves.
4. Do not force the flush device into the valve! If flush device will not easily insert,
check to ensure that it is in the proper orientation and that the connectors are not
damaged.
