KUZMA LTD INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR STABI R turntable The Stabi R turntable is a very precisely engineered piece of equipment. However the construction is robust and requires minimal maintenance for optimal performance. Fig. 0. CONTENTS: Page General Product registration and warranty extension...
Drive is provided through a DC motor and a proprietary, non flexible drive belt. Stabi R also features a main platter with a very high mass ( 8 kg). The drive concept is the same as on our flagship turntable model Stabi XL DC. A very smooth torque characteristic enables the platter to reach its speed of 33 rpm accurately and approximately 2 seconds.
Technical data: Mass 36 kg Platter mass 8 kg Platter material aluminium & acrylic Bearing type inverted (ruby ball) Shaft diameter 16 mm Chassis / levelling aluminium / yes Turntable levelling yes (4 adjustable feet) Drive Single DC motor Belt special Internal power supply yes (electronic)
Unpacking The whole turntable is packed in one box. Before unpacking the individual parts of the turntable, prepare the area where the unit will be situated. The best position is on a solid shelf which is strong and rigid enough to support the turntable. For best performance this should be completely horizontal.
You can now level the base horizontally with a spirit level. Level base by rotating two opposite legs at a time.( Fig. 3 ) Fig. 2. Turntable Stabi R base without left side panel and right wing Fig. 3. Adjustment foot Fig.

Fig. 6. Belt drive with subplatter Belt: Position the belt onto the motor pulley first and then with fingers position the belt over the subplatter perimeter. The belt is not very flexible, just stretch it into position by rotating the subplatter a few times.
Power supply Power supply description: The DC motor controller unit generates a precise output to control rotation of a three phase frequency controlled DC motor. The signal is generated by a sophisticated computer based program. Each speed can be selected, finely adjusted independently and then stored in the memory. The PS is factory preset.
Use and adjustments Tonearm mounting: Mount the arm as instructed in the tonearm instruction manual. Route the tonearm cable underneath the turntable below the armboard. With tonearms where the cable is not connected to the tonearm below armboard, eg. 4Point,….., it is best if the tonearm is fixed on the armbase first and then route the cable.
Accessories: More info will be soon available on our web site Options for fitting more tonearms as spare parts: Various tonearm options Stabi RD – for two tonearms Clamp: The function of the clamp is to press the record close to the platter mat, thus minimizing vibration between the record and platter and decreasing warps of the record itself.
If you need more tilt, then you should remove the bearing oil and subplatter and it is advisable to protect the ruby ball. All parts are heavy and can be easily damaged by sliding around a transport vehicle. Repacking in the original box is, therefore, recommended. Kuzma Ltd Hotemaze 17A SI-4205 PREDDVOR SLOVENIJA...
