Chapter 12 Troubleshooting
Problem 1:
Low reading efficiency.
Probable cause
A target code is not within the scan range of the
reading window.
The code may be smeared.
The code may be blurred.
The keyboard type is not set correctly, such as U.S. English
(101 key type) or Japanese (106 key type).
Problem 2:
Cannot read 2D codes or barcodes.
Probable cause
The type of the code to be scanned has not been set as a
readable code.
The scanned barcode contains no check digit, while the
"Enable, with the check digit" parameter is selected.
The check digit contained in the scanned barcode is
wrong.

The Bluetooth
wireless link is not established.
Problem 3:
Code data not displayed on the computer screen correctly.
Probable cause

The target Bluetooth
device is not ready for
communication.

The target Bluetooth
device is located too far from
your scanner.

The "Scanning w/ Bluetooth
parameter is selected.
Problem 4:
Scanner does not turn on.
Probable cause
The battery is not loaded correctly.
The remaining battery level is insufficient.
The battery electrodes on the battery and scanner body
are dirty.

Bring a code within the scan range.
Wipe off the dirt from the code.
Use a clearly printed code.
Set correctly by referring to Section 9.3 (2).
Enable the type of the code to be scanned as a readable code.
Select the "Enable, without the check digit" parameter.
Use a correct barcode.
Establish the Bluetooth
device.
Refer to the User's Manual of the target Bluetooth
Bring the target Bluetooth
other.

Establish the Bluetooth
device.
Cancel the setting. (See Chapter 3.)
Load the battery correctly.
Charge the battery if the remaining level is low. Replace the LR6
(AA) alkaline battery if the remaining level is low.
Wipe the electrodes clean if they are dirty.
