IMPORTANT
Note the location and routing of the control cables for
the reassembly process.

13. Remove the eight hexhead cap screws (2) holding
the motor mounting plate to the transmission.
14. Remove the motor and mounting ring assembly
(3).
15. Install new drive motor onto transmission. Make
sure to align the splined shaft on the motor with the
splined receiver on the top of the transmission.
NOTE: When the motor has been removed, the
transmission sump will be exposed. Cover
opening to prevent foreign objects from
falling into the transmission.
16. Install the eight hexhead cap screws.

17. Reconnect the four cables to the drive motor.
Make sure to match the cable label to the terminal.
Make sure that wires do not contact sharp edges
of any assembly. Vibration can cause the
insulation to become damaged leading to an
electrical hazard.

Make sure to relocate the motor control cables as

they were initially installed.
18. Reconnect the steering arm.
19. Reinstall control cable into steering arm and
secure with cable clamp.
20. Connect control cable using the round connector in
the control head.

21. Reinstall control head assembly.
22. Reconnect the battery.
23. Test operate the lift truck.

4-5.5 Transmission Assembly Removal.

NOTE: The transmission does not have any user
serviceable parts. If the transmission is the
cause of travel problems, it will need to be
replaced.
1. Disconnect battery.
2. Block load wheels to prevent the truck from
moving.
3. Elevate the drive end of the lift truck and support
the truck on jack stands .
4. Remove motor compartment service covers.
5. Remove pivot tube cap (2, Figure 4-6) from the
pivot tube.
6. Label and disconnect wires leading to the
deadman switch and creep travel switch.
7. Remove four control head mounting screws and
control head, then disconnect control cable at the
round connector.
