    • Solar components must be installed according to specifications and instructions of the manufacturer. • LIBERTY300 Solar is equipped with an air to water heat pump, used as back up. When solar energy is no more available, the heat pump starts and heats the water to the temperature setting with up to 3 times less energy than electric heater.

    2.5 - Safety devices LIBERTY300 Solar is equipped with the following safety devices : • High pressure switch The high pressure switch protects the heat pump from the refrigerating circuit’s high pressure. In case of high pressure, the switch will stop the heat pump. A restart of the pump will occur automatically as soon as the refrigerating circuit’s pressure drops.

    2 (see section “PAR.06 – Ventilation speed”) 3.2.2.1 - On outdoor air The heat pump can function on a wide range of air temperatures (from -5°C to 35°C). LIBERTY300 Solar can remove heat from outdoor air. Partial ducts (only one duct) must be avoided when using outdoor air during winter, this could lead to an over-cooling of a room.

    • keep the tube vertical and open toward the bottom. 3.5.2 - Solar collector connections LIBERTY300 Solar is delivered with temperature sensors at inlet and outlet of the heat exchanger (size M1/2”). The hydraulic circuit of the solar collector has to be connected to these inlet and outlet ports.

    3.6 - Electrical connections It is not necessary to remove the upper cover to carry out LIBERTY300 Solar’s electrical connections. LIBERTY300 Solar is delivered with a 2.50m electrical cable found at the back of the device. The electrical supply must be single-phase 230V and grounded.

    The solar pump (not included) must be plugged to the electric board of LIBERTY300 Solar as follow: For pump consumming up to 200W, connection can be made directly at connector «Entrée 2» («Solar pump» on the figure below) with a 3G 0,75mm² cable.

    3.6.3 - Ventilation external control LIBERTY300 Solar can be used to permanently ventilate a room if the heating cycle is finished. This ventilation can be used to renew the air of a room. In this case, the connection of a moisture sensor allows to activate the operation of the ventilator in function to the ambiant humidity.

    “PAR.10 – Minimum temperature”°. In instances where there is a need for high amounts of domestic hot water, LIBERTY300 Solar possesses a “boost” function (activated by the user) which ensures the quick heating of water to the desired temperature (50°C for example) with the help of the heat pump and the electrical backup.

    The “VACATIONS” function ends automatically at the same time as soon as the number of days have passed. During the entire duration of the vacation LIBERTY300 Solar will display “RETURN” (Return from vacation) along with a countdown for the number of days.

    4.6 - ECO Mode ECO Mode restricts the operation of heat pump to a limited volume in the tank, leaving more space to store solar energy. ECO mode activates a «waiting for the sun» period every day in order to maximise the solar gain. Restriction of heat pump to half of the tank applies only during this period.

    PAR.09 4.8.1.7 - -Electric back up settings The start-up setting of the electrical backup can be shifted (either in + or in -) according to the comfort setting chose by the user (e.g. 55°C) If the temperature of the air is out of functioning range (<-5°C or >+35°C), the heat pump cannot function, it is the electrical backup that automatically takes control.

    To maintain performance, it is recommended to have the device inspected by a qualified person every two years. During maintenance or the shutting down of LIBERTY300 Solar , follow the environmental protection rules with respect to recovery, recycling and disposal of consumable parts and components.
