. DRIVER.SYS
The DRIVER.SYS file is a generic diskette driver
and an extension to DOS that provides DOS
support for external diskette drives. The driver is
installed with DOS and remains resident. Copy the
DRIVER.SYS file from your original DOS diskette
to your self-starting diskette.
. CONFIG.SYS
The CONFIG.SYS file contains commands that are
used to configure your system. Two entries in the
CONFIG.SYS file are required for DOS to install
the 3.5 Inch External Diskette Device Drivers. The
CONFIG.SYS file must be appended or created (if
it does not exist) with the following entries:
DEVICE= \EXDSKBIO.DRV
DEVICE=\DRrVER.SYS /D:2 /T:80 /S:9
/H:2 /C
(See the DOS manuals for an explanation of these
switch options.)
To perform this instedlation insert your self-starting
diskette in the appropriate drive and make it the default
drive. Do Step 5 on page 4-69 and look for the files
indicated. If these files exist, go to Step 15 on
page 4-71. If these files do not exist, do Steps 6 on
page 4-69 through 9 and then go to Step 15 on
page 4-71.
