2.2 Alarm/monitoring system
Alarming
The alarm function of SaCoS
indicate discrepancies when
Modbus data communication.
Self-monitoring
SaCoS
carries out independent self-monitoring functions. Thus, for example the connected
one
sensors are checked constantly for function and wire break. In case of a fault SaCoS
the occurred malfunctions in single system components via system alarms.
Control
SaCoS
controls all engine-internal functions as well as external components, for example:

Start/stop sequences:
Local and remote start/stop sequence for the GenSet.
Activation of start device. Control (auto start/stop signal) regarding prelubrication oil
pump.
Monitoring and control of the acceleration period.
Jet system:
For air fuel ratio control purposes, compressed air is lead to the turbocharger at start
and at load steps.
Control signals for external functions:
Nozzle cooling water pump (only engine type 32/40)
HT cooling water preheating unit
Prelubrication oil pump control
Redundant shutdown functions:
Engine overspeed
Low lub. oil pressure inlet engine
High cooling water temperature outlet engine
2.3 Speed Control System
Governor
The engine electronic speed control is realized by the Control Module. As standard, the engine
is equipped with an electro-hydraulic actuator.
Speed adjustment
Local, manual speed setting is possible at the Control Unit with a turn switch.
