USER MANUAL - VMA1240 INSTALLATION MIXING AMPLIFIER Configuration setup Before using the VMA-1240(B), it must be configured to match the application. Make sure the unit is unplugged from AC mains and remove the top cover to gain access to the internal elements, then set switches and jumpers and arrange connections as per following instruction. - Page 5 USER MANUAL - VMA1240 INSTALLATION MIXING AMPLIFIER J300 - Mic Emergency. USER MANUAL - VMA1240 INSTALLATION MIXING AMPLIFIER Functional Description The VMA-1240(B) is a combination of a triple-microphone & music mixer, a media player, and a mono constant voltage power amplifier which can optionally be wired for low-impedance operation. Packed in a rugged 19’’ | 2U case and fitted with forced fan cooling, it’s a comprehensive and reliable centre piece for commercial sound systems in retail and hospitality. - Page 9 USER MANUAL - VMA1240 INSTALLATION MIXING AMPLIFIER MOH Signal output. This output is designed to feed the music-on-hold (MOH) input of a telephone system, which requires the built-in transformer isolation. The output can however also be used as a monitor speaker output, providing 1W of output power into an 8 Ohm load (do not use loads with lower impedance or higher power requirements).

This amplifier is fitted as standard with an output transformer that can be enabled by moving an internal connector (see chapter “setup configuration”). The transformer should be placed in circuit if the amplifier is to be used with a 100 V, 70 V or 25 V line speaker distribution system.

This rotary 4-psotion switch allows to choose any of the 3 rear-side Line inputs (16) to be the music source, or the internal media player. Additionally, a front-side 3.5mm TRS input (34) can be the source, which automatically replaces the Media Player signal if a plug is plugged into the socket (34).

Depending on the chosen source (FM or Media - via control 52), this control has different functionality: In Media Play mode (Indicator 62 off) | Press: go to folder level, then navigate by data dial (32) In FM Mode: (Indicator 62 on) | Allows you to store a new station preset.

Depending on the chosen source (FM or Media - via control 52), this part of the display shows different content: In Media Play mode (Indicator 62 off): Either the remaining or elapsed time are displayed in a hh:mm:ss format, depending on the setting made by (50). - Page 14 IR remote control is not possible. Bluetooth Replay (only versions with built-in BT receiver) The VMA-1240 is optionally available with built-in Bluetooth module (version VMA-1240B). This module can not be retrofitted and the availability of the Bluetooth-enabled version might be subject to territorial restrictions.

GND RV VCC Chime Player Sounds The VMA-1240(B) stores the chime sound which is invoked by the Chime player controls (14, 31. 32) on a Micro-SD Card. The unit comes pre-programmed with a standard chime sound; however this sound can be changed to anything the user deems suitable. -

Connections For connecting this unit to AC mains, please note: Check whether the AC mains voltage and frequency is the same as this product is specified for (see rear panel of product). Whenever the specified voltage or your AC plug should not match the local conditions, do NOT plug the AC cord into the wall outlet and contact you dealer immediately. - Page 18 USER MANUAL - VMA1240 INSTALLATION MIXING AMPLIFIER Connections This unit uses the below connector types, for which the pin assignment must comply with the following specification. Always make sure to use good connectors and cables to ensure proper operation. Balanced connections are to be preferred over unbalanced connections where applicable and feasi- ble.
