D. PUTTING ON AND TAKING OFF
THE HELMET
Reflective Panels
To improve the visibility of the motorcyclist in road traffic, two
reflective areas are provided to the left and right under the visor
pane and reflective decals on the rear of the helmet.
Caution:
Keep the reflective safety areas clean.
D.1. PUTTING THE HELMET ON
1. Open the chin guard and lock in position. Ensure that the sun
visor inside the shell is lowered.
2. Open the chin strap.
3. Grasp the bottom ends of the chin strap and pull these apart.
4. Now you can pull the helmet easily onto your head.
5. Tighten the chin strap by inserting the ratcheting tongue
gradually into the locking mechanism until the strap sits firmly
on your chin.
6. Ensure that the chin strap sits firmly under your chin.
7. Swivel the chin guard down until both locks engage audibly.
8. Check that the chin guard is locked in place by pushing upward
from below.
Caution:
Check the correct positioning and length of the chin strap
regularly (see section E.2.).
