Checking Engine Oil

IMPORTANT: Do not overfill. Be sure that the outboard is upright
(not tilted) when checking oil.
1. Position the outboard vertical and remove the top cowl.
2. Remove the oil filler cap. Wipe oil off the dipstick and screw
the oil filler cap back into the oil fill hole completely. Remove
the oil filler cap and check oil level on dipstick. Oil must be
between full mark and add mark. If oil level is low, add oil to
bring level no higher than the full mark.
