FEATURES AND CONTROLS

Setting the Operating Angle of Your Outboard

The vertical operating angle of your outboard is adjusted by
changing the position of the tilt pin in the adjustment holes
provided. Proper adjustment allows the boat to achieve optimum
performance, stability, and minimize steering effort.
The tilt pin should be adjusted so the outboard is positioned to
run perpendicular to the water when the boat is running at full
speed. This allows the boat to be driven parallel to the water.
Arrange passengers and load in the boat so the weight is
distributed evenly.

IMPORTANT: Do not operate the outboard with the tilt pin
removed.

Engine Overspeed Protection System

The engine overspeed protection system is activated if the
engine speed should exceed the maximum allowable limit. This
will protect the engine from mechanical damage.
Anytime the engine overspeed protection system is activated,
the engine speed is automatically reduced to within the allowable
limit. If engine overspeed continues, have the outboard checked
by your dealer.
NOTE: Your engine speed should never reach the maximum
limit to activate the system unless the propeller is ventilating, an
incorrect propeller is being used, or the propeller is faulty.
