Figure A-3 shows a similar calibration curve obtained on a lignite-fired boiler,
and Figure A-4 shows a calibration curve for a bituminous coal fired power
station.
Table A-1 summarizes the levels of error observed for different statistical
analyses of a number of correlation lines for typical emission sources. Four
different error definitions are shown. These error definitions are described
more fully as follows:
a. Standard deviation expressed as the square root of the mean.
b. Type 1 error is the 95% confidence level that the true mean of all
observed optical data for a given particulate concentration will lie
within the limit.
