Connecting to heating system

Boiler has to be connected to the heating system and electric power network in accordance with the project
prepared by the projecting body, taking into account the principal diagram of boiler connection to heating
system given in the „Burner control unit PLUM ecoMAX850P2-O (or KEY RK-2006LPGP2) for Pellet Boilers
Installation, Maintenance, Service And Operation Manual". In order to ensure long service life of the boiler,
layout ensuring the necessary return water temperature has to be used.
If the difference of supply and return water temperatures is over 25 °C (showing insufficient water
circulation in the heating system), this may mean that the boiler would be unable to work at full power,
because it heats fast (especially its upper part where temperature sensors are installed). In this case burner
controller fan blows air to the hearth and "stops" the boiler, the boiler is forced to "wait" till the slow water flow
removes the produced heat.
Optimum volume of water, flowing through the boiler, is given in Table 1 of this manual and is calculated
when the difference between the mentioned temperatures is 20 °C.
During boiler stoking, forced heat carrier circulation is a must.
Water to fill the heating system has to undergo special preparation in accordance with LST EN 12953-10 or
similar standard of the user country.
After having installed the heating system and filled it with water (at static pressure), visually inspect the
boiler and the places of its connection to the heating system.
If there are no water leaks, for testing, raise pressure in the boiler up to 1,5 of operating pressure, in this
case 6,0 bar (0,6 MPa), and maintain it for at least 5 minutes. If, as a result, there are no leaks or weeping at
maintained pressure, this means that the boiler is fit for operation.
After completion of the test, reduce pressure in the system down to the operating pressure, taking into
account that when water heats up and expands, pressure will grow up.
For protection from overpressure, 2 protective valves have to be provided, with the following parameters:
• Pressure: 4,0 bar;
• Valve diameter Ø: G 1¼`.
Protective valves of the boiler have to be installed on the branch pipes welded in supply water pipe before
boiler closing valve.

Connecting electrical part of the boiler

• Boiler controller with emergency thermostat is installed in the rear part of the boiler and control unit which is
connected via cable, can be fixed by magnets onto the boiler in the place convenient to use.
• Boiler body has to be grounded according to the requirements of electrical equipment installation rules.
• Installation works have to be carried out in accordance with the prepared project.
• Electrical part connection works can be carried out by the person having electrician's qualification and
possessing the permission-licence for execution of installation works.
• Works have to be carried out with supply power off observing the requirements of occupational safety.
Additionally, there is an option to connect to the controller the following elements of the heating system:
temperature sensors; system recirculation pump; mixing T-valve; hot water (boiler) pump, etc. For more
information look in „Burner control unit PLUM ecoMAX850P2-O (or KEY RK-2006LPGP2) for Pellet Boilers
Installation, Maintenance, Service And Operation Manual"".
Before installation or cleaning of the burner, make sure that its power cable is disconnected!
When installing the control panel on the other side of the boiler, turn the blind with T-valve to the opposite side of the boiler.
