The relay supports the following high accuracy time
synchronization method with a time-stamping res-
olution of 4 μs required especially in process bus
applications.
• PTP (IEEE 1588) v2 with Power Profile
The IEEE 1588 support is included in all variants
having a redundant Ethernet communication mod-
ule.

Required accuracy of grandmaster clock is +/-1 μs.
The relay can work as a master clock per BMC algo-
rithm if the external grandmaster clock is not avail-
able for short term.
The IEEE 1588 support is included in all variants
having a redundant Ethernet communication mod-
ule.
In addition, the relay supports time synchroniza-
tion via Modbus, and DNP3 serial communication
protocols.
