Starting up the engine (02_08, 02_09, 02_10)

The vehicle is fitted with an ignition disabling system controlled by the side stand and
the engine cut-off switch. The engine cannot start if the side stand is down or if the
emergency cut-off switch is set to «OFF». If the engine is on, it turns off when the side
stand is lowered or the emergency cut-off switch is turned to «OFF». The appropriate
warning light on the digital instrument panel «D» signals this situation. The scooter is
equipped with automatic transmission with direct drive, so that starting is effected by
turning the throttle grip to idle speed; to start-off from still, progressively twist the
throttle grip. In order to start the engine and before pressing the starter button «E», it
is necessary to pull and hold pulled the front brake lever «G» or the combined brake
02_08
lever «D» to actuate the safety switches. The fuel supply system can control ignition
based on the engine condition (hot/cold) or the ambient temperature and pressure.
