Troubleshooting
You can use this section to troubleshoot common issues that can occur with the Wireless Print Solutions
Adapter (WPSA).
Status LED never illuminates.
Probable Cause
The WPSA does not have full power.
WPSA Does not acquire an IP address from the network.
Probable Cause
The adapter is not connected to the access point.
Connectivity to the gateway server is interrupted.
The wireless access point connects to managed
switches that use Spanning Tree protocol but
protocols that manage DHCP issues are not
enabled.
DHCP is not enabled on the network or it is
malfunctioning.
Solution
1. Ensure that the AC power adapter is fully seated
into the 5VDC Power Supply. For details, refer to the
Wireless Print Solutions Adapter Installation Guide
supplied with the device, or available at
www.xerox.com/office/WPSAdocs
2. Ensure that the power adapter is plugged into a
100–240 VAC outlet.
3. Ensure that the barrel connector is seated properly
into the WPSA.
Solution
Ensure that the adapter connects properly to the
access point. For details, see
Print Solutions Adapter
on page 16.
Use Ping or Traceroute to check the gateway server.
For details, see
Ping
on page 33.
Ensure that PortFast for Cisco, FastLink for Netgear,
or Edge Mode for Adtran are enabled on the
network.
Configure a static IP address. For details, see

page 23.
