Barcodes
All slides must be labeled with an order ID in the form of a barcode. The
barcode must contain only the order ID and no other order data.
Example of slides with barcode.
Note:
Magazines are delivered with a barcode label already attached.
The order ID may be up to 24 characters (ASCII), including spaces. It must not
begin with:
• PB
• BFS
• ERR
• QC (reserved for cell location test slides)
• a space
The barcode can be printed on a label or directly onto the slide. The print must
be in high contrast to the background and it must be resistant to immersion oil.
If the barcode is printed directly onto a slide, it must be printed on a white,
smooth, frosted area of the slide.
If, for some reason, you can't print barcodes with order ID, you can use
preprinted barcode labels with the prefix "ER". The system will let you
manually enter an order ID for all slides beginning with the letters "ER". You
can order these preprinted labels from your local vendor.

Important!
Do not get immersion oil on the barcode. Immersion oil may prevent the
system from reading the barcode correctly.
