Outer Tub/Suspension Assembly

The wash basket, outer tub, motor, and shaft
assembly are suspended by four rod and spring
assemblies. The rod and spring assemblies are
attached to each upper corner of the washer
cabinet. They extend down and connect to the
bottom of the outer tub.
Removing/Replacing Suspension Rods
1. Raise the top cover assembly. The control panel
and rear component cover need to be removed.
2. Lift the tub up to disengage the suspension rod
assembly from the corner bracket.
If the corner bracket/socket needs to be replaced,
remove the two Phillip's head screws that secure it
to the cabinet
3. Lower the rod inside the cabinet to disengage it
from the bottom of the tub.
NOTE: There is a tacky grease on the ball socket and
lower suspension spring cover.
The rods with the blue tops are to be installed on the
right side when looking at the washer from the front.
Tub Removal
1. Remove the top cover and components
attached to it.
2. Remove the wash basket assembly.
3. Disconnect the inlet pump hose and suspension
rod assemblies from the tub.
4. Disconnect the upper harness from the lower
harness at the rear of the washer.
5. Lay the washer on its side and slide the tub out
through the top of the cabinet.
6. Transfer all components on the bottom of the
tub to the new tub.
