Problem
Router will not operate. No supply of power
Router runs slowly.
Router is overheating.
Makes an unusual
sound.
Excessive vibration.
Heavy sparking occurs
inside motor housing.

Reason
Brushes worn or sticking
Switch is faulty
Motor components open
or short circuited
Variable speed set low
Motor is overloaded
Ventilation holes are
blocked / machine is dirty.
Router is overloaded.
Mechanical obstruction
Armature has shorted
sections
Bent cutter shank
Brushes not moving freely
Armature short circuited
or open circuited
Commutator dirty

Check that power is
available at source
Replace as described on
page 21 or request your
dealer to replace.

Increase variable speed
