Manual recording
TAPE DUBBING (Deck A to Deck B)

Follow the steps 1-3
under "Computer
recording" above.
If required, press the disc select button (DISC 1, DISC 2 or DISC
3) to select the disc, then press the STOP button. Select the track
number to be recorded.
Press the
REC PAUSE button. Deck B enters the record pause
mode. "REC
appears and" k"
blinks on the display.
Press the FWD PLAY button. "
" remains lit and recording starts.
To stop recording, press the STOP button on the deck.
When the end of the tape is reached, the CD player and deck B stop
automatically.
RECORDING
FROM THE TUNER OR VIDEO/DVD

Load a blank cassette into deck B.
Tune in the radio station to be recorded, or play a video cassette, video
disc or DVD.
Press the
REC PAUSE button. Deck B enters the record pause
mode.
Press the FWD PLAY button. Recording starts.
Press the
REC PAUSE button to temporarily stop recording. Press
the FWD PLAY button again to continue.
Press the STOP button to stop recording.
When beat interference
is heard
A high-pitched noise called "beat" is sometimes heard during the recording
of radio broadcasts.
If this occurs,

Press the MEMORY button.

While "PROG." is blinking, press the *>/>El
button on the remote
control to select "be-l" or "be-2. Select the setilng that gives the best
results.
Load the cassette to be played back into deck A and a blank cassette into
deck B.
Computer
dubbing

Use the same length cassettes
in both decks for the computer
dubbing operation.
Select "TAPE
function.
Press the "HIGH" or "NOR" COMPUTER
REC button. "HIGH
or
"NORMAL"
appears briefly on the display.
HIGH: For dubbing the tape at high speed (twice normal speed).
NOR: For dubbing while monitoring
at normal speed.
The system performs the steps below and automatically
starts deck
A playback and deck B recording.
1)
Deck A Tape rewinds.
2)
Deck B: Tape rewinds.
3)
Deck B: Erases the first few seconds of the tape.

Manual edit dubbing
Dubbing starts without rewinding both tapes initially.
Press the EDIT button to turn the "MANUAL"
indication
on
before proceeding to step 2.

To cancel this mode, press the button again. "MANUAL"
disappears.
After loading the cassettes, each tape must be wound to
the point where you would like to start dubbing.

"A - B DUB", "COMPU. REC, "REC, "A", "B and"
" appear on the
display as dubbing begins.
When the end of the tape has been reached on deck B, both decks
stop automatically.
Turn over both cassettes and reinserl them.
Press the "HIGH or "NOR" COMPUTER
REC button to dub side B of
deck A.
Press the STOP button (Deck section) to stop dubbing at any time.
The tape will not stop during computer dubbing if the
REC PAUSE
button is pressed.
During high-speed
dubbing, normal monitoring is not possible.
Manual dubbing

Deck B: Locate the tape position where recording will begin.
Deck A: In the forward direction, locate the selection of the tape to be
dubbed.
Press the
REC PAUSE button. "REC
and "B appear, and "›"
blinks on the display.
Press the FWD PLAY button. "A appears and ">" remains lit. Manual
dubbing starts.
Deck A playback will start in the forward direction.
Press the STOP button to stop dubbing.
Automatic stop during tape dubbing
If deck A or deck B stops automatically, the other deck will also stop.
During tape dubbing, the DOLBY NR button has no effect on the
copied tape. If the tape to be copied is encoded with Dolby NR, the
copy will be Dolby NR encoded automatically.
