The zigzag stitch is one of the most common and versatile
stitches. It can be a utility stitch for button sewing, bt_onhole
making, hemming, overcasting, mending and daming.
It can also be used to decorate with trims, appliques and cut
work or as a decorative stitch.

The.satin stitch is often used to de_rate_arLd_to.overcast
the
raw edge of blankets, linens, tablecloths, napkins, etc. It is
also attractive in applique.
Once your machine is set up to stitch, test stitch on the fabric
being used for best results. A tight satin stitch may pucker
some lightweight fabrics.
