Identifying the N22 coil
The N22 coil has a
Pairing with the CR230 Remote Assistant
Before you can start to use a CR230 Remote Assistant, you need to pair
it with your sound processor.
For an N22 implant recipient, you need to turn your sound processor on,
and then pair it with the remote assistant within 25 seconds.
See "Pair" in the Cochlear Nucleus CR230 Remote Assistant User Guide.
Important tips to save battery power
•
Attaching the battery module: your sound processor will turn on automatically when you attach
the battery module. The N22 coil will now start "searching" for your implant, which will use battery
power.
Either put your coil on your implant, or turn off your sound processor to save your battery.
•
Removing your coil from your implant: for N22 implant recipients, your sound processor will not
turn off automatically when off your implant. The coil will "search" for your implant, using battery
power.
Whenever you intend to leave your coil off your implant, turn off your sound processor.
Note for clinicians: The N22 coil has no telemetry, so the sound processor will not know if it is on the
implant. The sound processor also will not have orange flashing lights to warn that it is off the coil. It
is important that recipients always turn off their sound processor when it is off the implant to save
battery power.
See "Replace the battery" and "Turn on and off" in the Cochlear Nucleus CP910 and CP920 Sound Processor User Guide.
