1 About This Guide bintec elmeg Chapter 1 About This Guide This installation guide for the bintec RM3000 router family contains information on how to correctly install the device in a working environment. 1.1 Supported Devices The information provided in this installation guide only applies to the bintec RM3000 router family.
2.1.2 Hardware Monitoring The only way to monitor the bintec RM3000 router family hardware is through the LEDs on the front panel. The LEDs provide visual information on the state of the device. They indicate the condition of the hardware components, if there is connectivity, data flow, etc.

Adhesive rubber feet (these are not required if mounted in a rack). 3.2 Expansion Slot The bintec RM3000 router family has an expansion slot, which means you can increase its features and interfaces by inserting different cards or boards. (8) Connect a terminal to the console and check that the device detects the expansion card. 3.3 Installation in a rack The bintec RM3000 device family can be installed in a 19” rack. The strips and screws needed are not provided by default and need to be acquired separately.
3.3.2 Wall mounting The bintec RM3000 can be mounted on the wall. This optional kit can be ordered separately or together with the bintec RM3000. The anchors to mount the device on the wall must be installed as shown in the following figure, using the screws provided by the manufacturer.

Main characteristics • Avoid humid and or dusty locations. • Direct exposure to sunlight, as well as other heat sources, should be avoided. The device should not be placed amongst papers, magazines or other elements that could hinder natural air circulation.

Some cellular telephony technologies use the antenna diversity technique to improve the quality of the signal re- ceived (HSUPA, CDMA EV-DO, etc.).
