Your cooktop is equipped with a
thermo-electric flame failure monitor. If
a gas flame is extinguished, e.g. by
food boiling over or by a draft, the gas
supply is switched off. This prevents the
release of gas. If you turn the control to
the " " position, the burner is ready for
use again.
The thermo-electric flame failure moni-
tor operates independently from the
electricity supply. This means that it
will still work if the cooktop is used
during a power outage.
