Battery Life
Turning the Personal Tracker On/Off
GMPT-401 Personal Tracker User Guide
Battery life from a single charge may extend to many days under ideal
operating conditions. Usage factors affecting battery life include:
•
Initial charge state of the battery and operating temperature (reduced
capacity at the low end of the temperature range).
•
Settings and usage (e.g. the number of messages sent).
•
Reporting, GPS acquisition, mailbox check and SOS alert time intervals.
These are configurable in the GMPT-401 App or in ViewPoint. The longer
the intervals, the longer the battery will last between charges.
•
If satellite coverage is poor and messages cannot be delivered, the
Personal Tracker remains on for longer while attempting to retry.
