  • Page 11 Siemens' products and solutions undergo continuous development to make them more secure. Siemens strongly recommends that product updates are applied as soon as they are available and that the latest product versions are used. Use of product versions that are no longer supported, and failure to apply the latest updates may increase customers' exposure to cyber threats.
  • Page 12: Product Family

Product family Overview SIDOOR Door control system is the general term for a controller of an access system. The SIDOOR product family is primarily intended for operating sliding doors. Door control systems are characterized by the fact that there are always two defined states: namely for the open and closed positions of the door.

  • Page 24: Light Barrier

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.1 Light barrier Description of function The light barrier signal interrupts a closing movement a results in reversing. Exception: If the door is open less than 1 cm, the light barrier signal is ignored. If no power is supplied at the light barrier input, this is interpreted as an interruption of the light barrier.
  • Page 25: Dcps (Door Closed Position Sensor)

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.2 DCPS (Door Closed Position Sensor) Description of function DCPS stands for Door Closed Position Sensor or DOOR CLOSED sensor. The Door Closed Position Sensor is not a special sensor, but an open or closed contact as far as the controller is concerned.
  • Page 26: Nudge

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.3 Nudge Description of function If a "Nudge" command is present, the reversing unit is deactivated, and the door is closed with the set nudge speed and nudge force. The input signals CLOSE and NUDGE must be active so that the NUDGE operating state is only effective in the closing direction.
  • Page 27: Door Close (Command Given Via Digital Inputs)

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.5 DOOR CLOSE (command given via digital inputs) Description of function The DOOR CLOSE command closes the door according to the set driving curve and closing force as long as the command is present. The door reaches the CLOSED position at cutter speed.

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.6 DOOR OPEN (command given via digital inputs) Description of function The DOOR OPEN command opens the door according to the set driving curve and opening force as long as the command is present. The door reaches the OPEN position at creep speed.
  • Page 29: Overload Protection

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.8 Overload protection Description of function If the drive motor or controller are subject to high loads, an automatic overload protection function will activate, based on the temperature of the motor or controller. The overload protection initially reduces the drive parameters. If a specific maximum temperature is exceeded, the motor is deenergized when at a stop, and executes no further drive commands until the temperature has fallen.
  • Page 30: Obstruction Detection

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.10 Obstruction detection 6.2.10.1 Obstruction detection CLOSE Description of function If the door is obstructed in the CLOSE direction with a DOOR CLOSE command present, the door stops and reverses direction. After reaching the OPEN position, the door closes again at normal speed to within about 2 cm of the obstruction.
  • Page 31: Obstruction Detection Process

Controller 6.2 Drive functions 6.2.10.3 Obstruction detection process Obstruction detection is based on two direction-independent processes: "force obstruction detection" and "stop obstruction detection". The following definitions are based on the speeds and are thus independent of the direction. Both obstruction detection systems assume that the system is actively being moved (drive order).

  • Page 33: Automatic Energy Limitation

Automatic energy limitation Description of function The SIDOOR ATE500E controller has a system that automatically limits the kinetic energy in the closing direction. After a learn run, the set parameters for the closing speed and the nudging speed are limited as a function of the learnt door weight according to the speed limit curves (see below).
