Fax Problems

Symptom
The machine is not working,
there is no display and the
buttons are not working.
No dial tone.
The numbers stored in the
memory do not dial correctly.
The document does not feed
into the machine.
You cannot receive faxes
automatically.
The machine cannot receive
faxes manually.
The machine will not send
anything.

Troubleshooting

Fixing Problems

Your problem may be listed on page 3.6 in the ÔLCD Error
MessagesÕ section. Below are other problems you can solve
by yourself. If not, call for service.
¥ Unplug the power cord and plug it in again.
¥ Check your socket is live.
¥ Check the phone line is connected properly.
¥ Check the phone socket in the wall by plugging in
another phone.
¥ Make sure that the numbers are stored in memory
correctly.
¥ Print a Telephone Numbers List. See page 2.39.
¥ Make sure that the document is not wrinkled and you
are putting it in correctly. Check the document is the
right size, not too thick or thin.
¥ Make sure that the cover is firmly closed.
¥ The FAX or TEL/FAX mode should be selected.
¥ Is there paper in the machine?
¥ Check if the display shows ÔMEMORY FULL.Õ
¥ Did you hang up the handset before you pressed Start?
Note: It will be applied when you have Work Centre with
handset or you have a phone connected to the EXT.LINE
jack on the bottom of the machine.
¥ Make sure that the document is loaded face down.
¥ ÔTXÕ should show up in the display.
¥ Check the other machine you are sending to, to see if
it can receive your fax.
