1.2 Applications for the device

The device can be configured t o use t he following operat ing m odes

Applicat ions for each operat ing m ode are shown below.

effect s of radio int erference.
1.2.1 AP + Bridge
I n AP + Bridge m ode, t he device support s bot h AP and bridge connect ion at t he sam e t im e.
I n t he figure below, A and B use X as an AP t o access t he wired net work, while X and Y
com m unicat e in bridge m ode.
When t he device is in AP + Bridge m ode, securit y bet ween APs ( WDS) is independent of t he
securit y bet ween t he wireless st at ions and t he AP . I f you do not enable WDS securit y, t raffic
bet ween APs is not encrypt ed. When WDS securit y is enabled, bot h APs m ust use t he sam e pre-
shared key.
