Rogue APs
Rogue APs are wireless access point s operat ing in a net work's coverage area t hat are not under t he
cont rol of t he net work's adm inist rat ors, and can open up holes in a net work's securit y. At t ackers
can t ake advant age of a rogue AP's weaker ( or non- exist ent ) securit y t o gain access t o t he net work,
or set up t heir own rogue APs in order t o capt ure inform at ion from wireless client s. I f a scan reveals
a rogue AP , you can use com m ercially- available soft ware t o physically locat e it .
