Adjustment of sensitivity

This adjustment is only necessary, if the dielectric constant of your medium is outside the
preset range.
SMARTPADDLE
break the sealing above the potentiometer screw. With the adjustment the Mount and Go func-
tion is cancelled.
SMARTPADDLE
please use the instructions for ETW-Sensors. With the adjustment the Mount and Go function
is cancelled.
Adjustment
SMARTPADDLE
1. Immerse the active area into the product to be detected.
2. Turn the potentiometer screw to the right to increase the sensi-
tivity of the sensor until you reach the desired switching point.
(LED yellow on).
3. After that, turn the potentiometer screw further 90° to the right to
guarantee safe operation.
If the Sensor switches when immersing into the product to be
detected (LED yellow on), turn the potentiometer screw to the
left, to decrease the sensitivity of the sensor, until the sensor
switches off (LED green on) and start again with step 2.
Adjustment

The

adjustment. We recommend, always to do the full adjustment,
that means mounted in the product to be detected. The full ad-
justment do not require an empty adjustment before.
Full adjustment - Active surface covered
• Immerse the active area into the product to be detected.
• Connect the grey teach wire (pin 5) to the supply voltage (U
and hold it until the LED is flashing yellow and output A1
pulsates.
• Disconnect the grey teach wire (pin 5).
• During the initialization process the LED is flashing yellow with
a high frequency and A1 will pulsate accordingly.
The full adjustment is finished when the LED is static yellow and
A1 is high. The sensor is now optimally adjusted for the detec-
tion of the media currently being used and the current mounting
conditions. The switching hysteresis is calculated automatically.
