Sensitivity adjustment
Series 10 (IAS-10-...)
Our analogue sensors of the Series 10 have the standard signal 4...20 mA.
The following device variants are available:

Standard signal
Output current range
With sensors IL4 the value of the signal increases when the medium approaches with sensors IL20 the
value of the signal decreases when the medium approaches.
The sensors are equipped with a spindle potentiometer.
For sensors of the series ≤ Ø12 mm / M12 a 12-turn potentiometer is used,
for sensors of the ≥ Ø18 mm / M18 series, a 20-turn potentiometer is
used. The potentiometer is placed under a sealing screw (A). For some
plug-in sensors (B) the potentiometer is placed on the side without a
cover.
This allows an exact adjustment between the minimum distance and the
maximum value. Thus, the full range is always available regardless of
the required measuring distance.
As an adjustment aid, the Series 10 sensors are designed with a 2-colour
LED. Outside the working range, yellow light is emitted to indicate readi-
ness for operation. Inside the working range, the LED lights up green.
When mounting, make sure that the dimensions of the active surface
to the object are not outside the maximum possible working range (see
data sheet, value refers to steel 37).
The MIN value is already preset and the MAX value is set in the applica-
tion.
Install the sensor properly and place the object to be scanned in the desired maximum position. Turn the
potentiometer screw to the right until the LED changes from yellow to green. If the green LED already
lights up after positioning the object, turn the potentiometer screw to the left until the yellow LED lights
up. Then turn the potentiometer screw to the left until the LED changes from yellow to green.
The sensor is set, the following values can be measured for the maximum distance Smax. → ≥ 20 mA
(inverted: Smax. → ≤ 4 mA).
We recommend using a multimeter for the adjustment.

Important:
Please do not change the position of the objects or sensor during the adjustment!
