AXTAP2200 Series Dual-Link Aggregation Taps

PANEL DESCRIPTION

POWER 1 AND POWER 2
Two power supplies are provided for each module. The power barrel connectors are on the rear of the
Dual-Link Aggregating Tap. Use of the second power supply is strongly recommended to assure uninterrupted
monitoring. Furthermore, connecting the second power supply to a different external power source circuit than
the first power supply eliminates power as a single point of failure. The POWER 1 and 2 LEDs on the front
panel illuminate indicating power 1 and 2, respectively, are on. Either LED not illuminated indicates a defective
power source and immediate replacement is required to insure redundant power integrity.
TAP ports: 1-4 (2206BT-BT, 2210BT-BT-/SFP) or 1-2 and 5-6 (2206LX-BT, 2206SX-BT)
These ports are either:
• RJ45 connectors used for connection to network segments. These jacks have integrated LEDs that
display line status and line speed of each port. See LED display codes below.
OR
• Duplex-LC connectors used for connection to network segments. The TAP Rx (left) LED located below each
duplex-LC connector are solid green indicating a light level has been detected on the respective TAP Rx
port. The TAP Tx (right) LEDs located below each duplex-LC connectors are solid green indicating 1,000 Mbs
link speed on the respective TAP Rx port.
MONITOR (ANY-TO-ANY) ports: 5-6 (2206BT-BT) or 1-2 and 3-4 (2206LX-BT, 2206SX-BT) or 5-10 (2210BT-BT/SFP
Designated as INPUT or OUTPUT by user to use as MONITOR or TAP ports (See Management and Control Port -
Command Line Interface - Superuser Mode - SET PORT MONITOR section for more information)
These ports are either:
• RJ45 connectors used for connection to network devices/tools or network segments. These jacks have
integrated LEDs that display line status and line speed of each port. See LED display codes below.
OR
• SFP connectors used for connection to network devices/tools or network segments. (Stratos fiber SFPs and
Methode copper SFPs are supported.) They can be connected through fiber or copper, or one of each. The
LEDs located to the right of the SFP connectors are solid green indicating a link has been established
between the respective MONITOR (ANY-TO-ANY) Rx port and network device/tool/segment Tx port.
The LEDs are flashing green when data is passed.

MANAGEMENT and SERIAL ports: MANAGEMENT RJ45 (front panel) or SERIAL DB9 (rear panel) connectors are
used for connection to the Management PC. The MANAGEMENT RJ45 jack has an integrated right LED that is
solid green indicating a link has been detected between the Management PC and the Management port. There
is no LED for the SERIAL DB9 connector on the rear of the Dual-Link Aggregating Tap.
