Setting the Exposure
I
Exposure, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity affects picture brightness
and overall picture quality. Longer exposure, slower shutter speed and
higher ISO sensitivity brighten the picture. Adjustment of these settings
is available when you are using
modes. You can adjust the overall image brightness by adjusting the
Exposure, Shutter Speed and ISO settings.

Overall brightness of a captured image may appear too dark if large
parts of the framed scene are very bright or the background is much
brighter than the main subject. Overall brightness of captured image
may appear too bright if large parts of the framed scene are dim or the
background is much darker than the main subject. Exposure
compensation can be achieved by adjusting the Exposure, Shutter
Speed, or ISO settings.

Turn on your camera by setting the Power Switch to
Exposure Compensation

Locking the Auto Exposure: AE LOCK
✤ You can lock the exposure setting for situations where
you want to darken a high contrast subject and
background. AE LOCK works only in
and SCENE modes.
1. Frame your subject using the LCD monitor, then press
the AE LOCK (DOWN) button.
2. Re-frame your subject if so desired.
3. Press the PHOTO button halfway down to enable the AE
LOCK obtaining clear focus on the subject.

You may set the focus on a different subject.
4. Press the PHOTO button firmly to take a picture.
Note
✤ After taking a photo, the AE LOCK is automatically
released.

Réglage de l'exposition <Exposure>
I L'exposition, la vitesse d'obturation et la sensibilité ISO ont une influence sur la
luminosité et la qualité d'ensemble de l'image. Une exposition plus longue,
une vitesse d'obturation plus lente et une sensibilité ISO plus importante
rendent l'image plus lumineuse. Ces réglages sont disponibles lorsque vous
utilisez les modes photo
(PROGRAM <PROGRAMME>), A, S et M. Vous
pouvez régler la luminosité d'ensemble de l'image grâce aux réglages de
l'exposition, de la vitesse d'obturation et de l'ISO.
I La luminosité d'ensemble d'une image prise peut sembler insuffisante si de
grandes parties de la scène cadrée sont très lumineuses ou si l'arrière-plan
est plus lumineux que le sujet principal. La luminosité d'ensemble d'une image
prise peut sembler trop forte si de grandes parties de la scène cadrée sont
peu éclairées ou que l'arrière-plan est plus sombre que le sujet principal. La
compensation de l'exposition peut s'effectuer grâce aux réglages de
l'exposition, de la vitesse d'obturation et de l'ISO.
I Allumez votre appareil photo en plaçant le sélecteur de mise sous tension sur
le mode
(PHOTO <CAMERA>).

VERROUILLAGE AE <AE LOCK>

Vous pouvez verrouiller le réglage de l'exposition lorsque vous
souhaitez assombrir un sujet très contrasté par rapport à
l'arrière plan. AE LOCK ne fonctionne qu'en mode
(PROGRAM <PROGRAMME>) et SCENE <SCENE>.
1. Cadrez votre sujet en utilisant l'écran LCD puis appuyez sur le
bouton AE LOCK (en bas).
2. Recadrez le sujet à votre guise.
3. Appuyez sur le bouton PHOTO jusqu'à mi-course pour activer
AE LOCK et obtenir une mise au point nette sur le sujet.

Vous pouvez effectuer la mise au point sur un autre sujet.
4. Appuyez à fond sur le bouton PHOTO pour prendre une photo.
Remarques
✤
Après avoir pris votre photo, le VERROUILLAGE AE <AE
LOCK> est automatiquement désactivé.
