USER GUIDE
Your radio was pre-programmed and fully optimized
before shipping to you. Youʼre not required to use the
guide. Go out and play!
Power On/Off:
• To power on, press and hold the [ Red Button] for 2
seconds.
• To power off, press and hold the [ Red Button] for 4
seconds and the device will count down to 0.
Modes: Memory/Manual
• T he RM-50 can switch between Memory (MR)
mode [pre-programmed channels], or Manual
(VFO) mode [manually entered frequencies] by
pressing the V /M button on the face of the radio.
• Pre-programmed channels are easily identified
by a small channel number and channel name (also
known as an alpha tag).
Changing Channels: In VFO mode, turn the channel knob clockwise
to change channels up. Turn the channel knob counterclockwise to
change channels down.
Transmitting : Press and hold the [ PTT] button on your provided
hand-mic to transmit. Release the [ PTT] button when finished with
your transmission.
Scan Mode : Scan Mode allows you to scan through all of the
programmed channels to look for radio traffic.
• Press S CAN to enter scan mode.
• Press S CAN to again to stop scanning.
TO LOCK/UNLOCK: P ress and hold the L button on the radio for two seconds. A small " KEY"
symbol will appear/disappear on the bottom right corner of the display to confirm that the
keypad is locked/unlocked.
HYPER MEMORY (preset buttons): T he 1-5 buttons allow the user to save the current channel
and settings. To save, press and hold one of the preset buttons for 3 seconds. To use a preset,
short-press the button/preset desired.
