8 x Faults and malfunctions
Fault and possible causes
Discharge water temperature in HPSU compact is too high
(> 65 °C).
– Temperature sensor discharge water temperature 
provides incorrect values.
– With installed backup heater: STB in backup heater (BUH)
has triggered.
No heat consumption at underfloor heat exchanger
● Check flow.
● If the flow is OK, replace the refrigerant sensor.
STB in backup heater (BUH) has triggered.
● Check and unlock position of STL.
Bridge of connection socket "X21A" missing on the board A1P.
Flow sensor on HPSU compact is defective.
Temperature sensor heat exchanger of the HPSU compact is
defective.
Malfunction message. Contact ROTEX heating technician.
Pressure in refrigerant system is too high. System must run within
its operating parameters.
Low pressure sensor in the external heat pump unit activated.
Check system for loss of refrigerant and if necessary check low
pressure sensor (short circuit).
Overload protection refrigerant compressor triggered. System
must run within its operating parameters.
A fan in the external heat pump device is blocked. Check fan for
dirt affecting it, the fan may be defective.
The electronic expansion valve in the external heat pump unit is
defective.
The temperature sensor in the hot water storage tank shows a
temperature value of > 85 °C. Check that the temperature
sensor is showing the correct value. 
With installed backup heater: Transfer STB signal booster func-
tion faulty. Check connection. Check switching contactor backup
heater for short circuit.
The discharge temperature from the heat exchanger of the exter-
nal heat pump unit is too high due to a blockage. Remove possible
contamination on the heat exchanger. Contact ROTEX heating
technician if the fault signal persists.
Internal fault in the heat pump system. Contact ROTEX heating
technician.
The external temperature sensor of the external heat pump unit is
defective.
Temperature sensor/connecting cable of storage tank sensor is
faulty.
Malfunction message. Contact ROTEX heating technician.
The temperature sensor of the fluid line in the external heat pump
device is defective. Contact ROTEX heating technician.
