Note that after configuring a bus adapter, the Ethernet interface of the LINK and therefore
also the LEDs "LK1 / LK2" are deactivated.
Replacement of a bus adapter
If you want to replace a bus adapter used in the LINK in your STEP 7 project, select the bus
adapter being used in the device view of the LINK and select the shortcut menu command
"Change device..." In the window that then opens you can replace the previous module with
a new one.
As an alternative you can drag the required bus adapter from the catalog to the slot for bus

Commissioning the LINK as a PROFINET IO device

Commissioning the LINK as a PROFINET IO device
1. If necessary change the PROFINET device name before loading.
The IP address is assigned by the controller.
Via the shortcut menu of the LINK open the online and diagnostics view ("Online &
Diagnostcs" > "Functions" > "Assign PROFINET device name").
Make sure that the address data on the LINK and in the STEP 7 configuration are
consistent.
2. Download the configuration data to the PROFINET IO controller.
With this action, the IO controller receives the configuration data of the LINK. When the
IO controller starts up the LINK is configured like all other PROFINET IO devices.
Note
Restart when using bus adapters
If you use a bus adapter, you need to restart the LINK after downloading so that the bus
adapter is recognized. Follow the steps outlined below:
1. Download the configuration data as described above.
2. Turn off the power.
3. Plug in the bus adapter and connect it to the network.
4. Turn on the power.
The ports of interface X1 are then disabled.
