INTERLOCK SWITCHES
Switch Actuator
Refer to page 2-8 for the procedure for servic-
ing the damper switch and page 2-5 for the
door interlock switches.
1. Disconnect the electrical power to the
microwave oven.
2. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale.
3. To test the damper switch:
a) Disconnect the wires from the damper
switch terminals.
b) Touch the ohmmeter leads to the two
terminals. The meter should indicate in-
finity (no continuity).
c) Touch the ohmmeter leads to the switch
terminals and press the switch actua-
tor. The meter should indicate 0 Ω (con-
tinuity).
4. Use the following tests to check the
desired door interlock switch:
a) Primary switch: Disconnect the wire
connector from the terminals.
b) With the door closed, touch the ohm-
meter leads to the switch terminals. The
meter should indicate 0 Ω (continuity).
c) With the door open, touch the ohmme-
ter leads to the switch terminals. The
meter should indicate infinity (no conti-
nuity).
a) Monitor switch: Disconnect the wires
from the terminals.
b) With the door closed, touch the ohm-
meter leads to the switch terminals. The
meter should indicate infinity (no conti-
nuity).
c) With the door open, touch the ohmme-
ter leads to the switch terminals. The
meter should indicate 0 Ω (continuity).
a) Secondary switch: Disconnect the
wire connector from the terminals.
b) With the door closed, touch the ohm-
meter leads to the switch terminals. The
meter should indicate 0 Ω (continuity).
c) With the door open, touch the ohmme-
ter leads to the switch terminals. The
meter should indicate infinity (no conti-
nuity).
