Preparing the Morgan 8470 Wood Insert for Installation

(Refer to Owner's Manual for the complete installation instructions)
1.
Remove the contents within the firebox (owner's manual, baffle and soapstone
refractory box) Remove the hang tag on the front door and place in the owner's
manual). Note: Lift the baffle straight up while another person removes the box of
refractory stone then tip the baffle to remove it.

. Using a ½" and 7/16" wrench, remove the left and right pallet
mounting clips. (Keep the ¼-20 bolt with a 7/16" head, as it will
be used to install the surround bracket), discard the pallet clips
and lag screws.

. Remove the flue collar, which is installed upside down for
shipping.

. Remove the ash lip assembly by loosening (
the forward Phillips head screw on both sides of the assembly.
Pull the ash lip 3 or 4 inches away from the unit and disconnect
the wires from the snap disc. Ensure you do not damage the
blower (or its wiring) which is pre-installed under the ash lip.

  • Page 7 . The door to the Morgan is reversible. It can be opened from the left hand side, or the right. It will be shipped from Hearthstone opening on the left hand side. To switch the door to open from the right, simply remove the ash lip assembly and front facade.
