TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Excess vibration.
Rip fence does not move smoothly.
Rip fence does not lock at rear.
Cutting binds or burns work.
Wood edges away from rip fence
when ripping.
Cause
Blade is out of balance.
Blade is damaged.
Saw is not mounted securely.
Work surface is uneven.
Blade is warped.
Rip fence not mounted correctly.
Rails are dirty or sticky.
Clamp screw is out of adjustment.
Clamp screw is out of adjustment.
Blade is dull.
Blade is heeling.
Work is fed too fast.
Rip fence is misaligned.
Riving knife is misaligned.
Separator is out of alignment.
Wood is warped.
Rip fence is misaligned.
Blade not properly aligned or set.

Solution
Replace blade.
Replace blade.
Tighten all hardware.
Reposition on flat surface.
Check saw blade installation.
Remount the rip fence.
Clean and wax rails.
Adjust clamp screw.
Adjust clamp screw.
Replace or sharpen blade.
Align rip fence, miter gauge and/or blade.
Slow the feed rate.
Align the rip fence.
Adjust the riving knife with shims provided.
See "To Align Blade Guard Assembly to the
Blade" in the Assembly section.
Replace the wood. Always cut with convex
side to table surface.
Check and adjust the rip fence.
Resharpen or set blade.
